AIN'T NO GOD?
By Robert G. Borelli
You Have Doubts?
How can there be a God when we have So Much
violence in our World . How can a Loving God allow ISIS.
They even murder Christians and in such a horrendous
manner. These forms of terrorism are even pronounced in
the name of God (Allah)
We Don't
One cannot fathom the genocides that these brutal
people, without mercy, have bestowed on humanity. As
believers in God's final judgment, we know that these
brutal, un-redeeming monsters will burn in the eternal
flames of Hell. However as horrendous as these acts
are, God does not control Human Behavior on earth. It is
we, the believers, moral responsibility to stop these
genocides using whatever methods we need to use. God
created man with the ability to make his own decisions,
good or bad. In God's plan, you are on earth but for a
brief time but enough time to live your life according to
the teachings of God. It is only by giving you free will
can you be judged on your worthiness of eternal life.
Those that do not live by God's laws will be judged
accordingly.

What about Poverty. Over half of the World is poor and
many don't know where their next meal is coming from.
Yet there are rich people buying multi-million dollar
homes, eating the best of food anytime they want, driving fancy cars.
Basically just squandering their money. How can this be allowed by a Fair God.
We Don't
Everyone begins life poor and in need of
substance whether born of rich or poor parents. It is
one's charter to live his life according to God's laws.
Happiness is not achieved through richness's it is
achieved through allowing the Spirit of God to live in
you. To understand the
meaning of one's being, God's expectation of you is to
serve others. By doing so, one will experience eternal
happiness. Wealth is a gift from God if it
is squandered selfishly, than one's heaven ends on
earth.
You Have Doubts? Why does the Catholic Church own so much property and have
gold chalices and very expensive art work and statues yet
they still ask us for money when I go to Mass. Basically
the Catholic Church is just another Big Business.
We Don't
The Catholic Church's wealth comes from
donations. In our parishes around the world there are
believers in the Catholic Church's teachings and
programs that help all of society, especially the poor,
and they choose to show their love for the Church by
giving gifts. This practice has been going on for
centuries. The church does not sell these donations but
displays them for all to enjoy. There is no obligation to donate to any church but donations are asked for in order to maintain the churches, pay for salaries and services, and most importantly for helping people that are the most in need. A short study of what the Catholic Church does to help others, will help you understand the purpose of your donation.
Yes,! We are a Big Business but in doing God's work and our true wealth are our people.
You Have Doubts? What business is it of the Catholic Church to tell us how I have to have Sex .
It is my business what goes on in My Bedroom. Birth Control is my business.
I'm the one that has to support my family.
We Don't
Firstly It is important to not over-rate
sex. It's real purpose is the
propagation of the human race. Thus God
made sex pleasurable because if He didn't, mankind's
first generation would have been mankind's last
generation. That said the Church does recognize that sex
is pleasurable and does allow a form of
birth control in what is known as the Rhythm System.
Look it up if you are not familiar with the term. Your
bedroom is not the Catholic Church's business. What
is their business, as messengers of God, is the sanctity
of marriage and the sanctity of Life.
You Have Doubts? Technology is replacing God. Soon science will extend life for hundreds of years. They are building life-like robots that will serve us and actually have human characteristics. Hell we may even replace spouses with them. Thus not needing martial unions. If there is a God, why is He allowing this?
We Don't
To say this will happen, for the most
part, can be true. However, two things are prevalent. 1.
Even thought science can extend life, one still will
die and all that is achieved is that one has more tius
to discover the true God, and this is good. 2. Robots
may indeed become humanoids and will serve the basic needs of mankind . However, being machines, they can never by free will, replace emotions. They can be programmed to simulate emotion but can never replace emotion. Giving to each other freely in love and ultimately in marriage can never be substituted.
You Have Doubts? I don't need written rules. I am
inherently a good person. I know what is right and what is wrong.
Why do I need to join a church or read the bible, or do other things like that?
We Don't
Ah! the opposite is true. You are
inherently a selfish person fighting every day for survival. That is the animal in you. God designed you that way. However God also put you in a society that demands compliance to rules. Theirs, not yours. But you are right in that basic instincts of survival is also based on what you need versus what you want. How to balance the two is what God teaches you through the written words of the Bible, attending Mass, and other church learning programs. At your end, God will ultimately judge you by those things learned . Survival has an end, eternity does not.
You Have Doubts?
Religion preys on weak people. The ones that are insecure and need support. I can take care of myself, solve my own problems.
I am a healthy, educated, free standing man, that needs no one.
We Don't
Well you have determined that all people that
follow a religion are weak, insecure and in need of
support, and you discovered this, I assume, by
making a scientific study of the many people that
follow a religion including the 1.2 Billion Catholics
that live in our world. And you say that Religion
preys on these people and
that is why they join the flock. You also state
that you can stand-alone in need of no-one. When
did this occur? Was it the day you were born? How about
when you reached the age of 5?, 10?, 15? Will it
be true when you reach the age of 60?, 70?, 80?, 90? I
think not . Religion teaches you and defines you as the
creation of God. You are a child of God at all
ages. Most Thinkers think that the sum of your net worth adding all the things
you have accomplished, in all the years you
inhabited this planet, minus God in your life, equals
zero and that No One Can Stand Alone.
You Have Doubts?
Catholics seem only to
read what their bibles tell them to
read and are not open to other outside words regarding
religious faith . You believe that God's words and
directions for mankind was first written to the Jews,
your elder brethren, in the old testament and then was
fulfilled in the New Testament. But they were
still written to believers. What
do you offer to the seekers that are not of the Catholic
faith or have left the Catholic faith, and who are open
to all words, thoughts and ideas?
We Don't
Your question is valid, and to the
found Christian or Jew, your premise certainly has
validity. But we do recognize that more in our world are
lost then are of we call the found. To tell you that certainty
after death is based on scriptures, old and new and all
you need is faith, works well with us, the cradle to
grave Catholics but does little for what we identify as the lost.
Our Catholic Men Ministries of Indian River County was
founded based on two missions, the first to elevate the
faith of existing Catholic men as to allow them to be
true teachers of our faith and to be living examples to
what Jesus taught us when he dwelled amongst us.
And by doing so, have these examples radiate amongst
other men so as to show them the purpose of their own being.
However our second mission, which is equally important
to us , is to reach out to the lost by allowing the opening of
a door to them. From what I sensed from your question is
that you understand our first mission, and following
that would not be a
bad thing for you. However judging by your doubts, you dwell somewhere
in our second mission. To be clear and to remove any
doubts, we are open to other
views into God’s creation that represents other ways of looking at
the wonders of His beautiful creation, and this actually
compliments our beliefs. You would be misunderstanding
our Catholic faith if you believe that we are indoctrinated by what is handed to us.
However, that said, we do believe in the teaching of our
bibles, which makes us extremely strong
in our faith, and because of this strength, we have the
willingness to be open to other works of God inspired
words.
You Have Doubts?
Why was I born only to immediately face
repeated struggles having to fight them all of my life.
And then after years of fighting, when I finally
overcous my struggles, I die. Why was I born? Answer
this without referencing God. Note: This question was
asked of me by Dr. John F. Borelli (my uncle) who served as a WWII Front Line Battlefield Doctor in the Battle of the Philippines from Oct. 1944– Aug. 1945.
As a consequence of what he witnessed, he lost his faith in God.
It took his death bed for him to get his faith back.

We Don't
This question cannot be answered without referencing
God. Based on the condition you applied for an answer,
you at one time he must have believed in God and should
know the answer. That said, struggles are the
by-products of our vulnerability as humans. They are
reminders that we are not a God but a creation of One
that is. Being born is not of our doing or choice.
Struggles are the basis of how we will be judged. A test
on whether we succumb to them or overcome them.
Overcoming them gives us our character and our worthiness and defines the Purpose of our being.
